Donaldson homered twice and added an RBI single while Moss opened the scoring with a grand slam for the Athletics, who had lost six of eight. Coco Crisp and John Jaso each had two hits and scored twice while Drew Pomeranz (5-2) remained unbeaten at home despite allowing five runs in 5 1/3 innings.
Mike Trout extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a single and a homer while Howie Kendrick also went deep for the Angels, who fell to 14-7 in their last 21 contests. Garrett Richards (4-2) failed to get through the first inning, surrendering five runs on five hits and three walks while recording only two outs.
Oakland began the first inning by loading the bases on two singles and a walk before Moss deposited a 2-0 offering over the wall in right field for a 4-0 lead. The Athletics loaded the bases in a similar fashion later in the frame before Crisp drew a two-out walk to force in another run and end Richards' evening.
Donaldson led off the second with his 14th homer and added an RBI single an inning later before belting a two-run shot in the fifth to complete his second multi-homer effort of the season and give Oakland a 9-3 lead. Trout got Los Angeles on the board with a solo shot in the fourth and Kendrick swatted a two-run homer later in the frame before C.J. Cron delivered a two-run double in the sixth to get the Angels within four.GAME NOTEBOOK:
