Tyler Glasnow allowed one run in five innings, Manuel Margot hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the fourth inning, and the visiting Tampa Bay Rays beat the struggling New York Yankees 6-3 Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

Glasnow (2-0) struggled with fastball command at times but held the Yankees to two hits and won his seventh straight decision. Glasnow also struck out seven, worked around four walks and won his eighth straight road decision to set a Tampa Bay team record.

Three of his walks were in the opening two innings when the Yankees loaded the bases in the first and put two on in the second. The right-hander escaped a bases-loaded jam by retiring Brett Gardner on a grounder to first and stranded two in the second by striking out Aaron Judge and retiring Aaron Hicks on a lineout.

Glasnow also withstood an apparent hand cramp in the fifth. After throwing a pitch to DJ LeMahieu, he started shaking his hand and was looked at by the trainer but stayed in the game after a few warmup pitches.

Glasnow walked LeMahieu to start the fifth but fanned Giancarlo Stanton on a checked swing to end the inning, prompting boos from the limited capacity crowd of 10,583.

Glasnow's gritty outing helped the Rays improve to 14-3 in the past 17 regular-season meetings. Including their five-game win in the American League Division Series, the Rays are 17-5 in the past 22 meetings since July 18, 2019.

Margot hit one of three Tampa Bay homers when he snapped a 1-1 tie by driving a first-pitch changeup from New York left-hander Jordan Montgomery (1-1) into the visiting bullpen in left-center field.

Francisco Mejia hit a solo homer in the second and Joey Wendle hit a two-run shot in the seventh off Jonathan Loaisiga. Mejia also added insurance with an RBI single in the ninth.

LeMahieu hit an RBI single and Rougned Odor homered for the Yankees, who lost their fourth straight. Judge hit an RBI double in the seventh off Collin McHugh but was stranded when Stanton struck out against Ryan Thompson.

Diego Castillo pitched a perfect ninth for his fourth save.

Montgomery allowed four runs on two hits in six-plus innings.
