Clint Frazier hit a two-run homer with two outs in the 11th inning for the host New York Yankees, who snapped a four-game losing streak with a 5-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.

Miguel Andujar and Brett Gardner grounded out to start the inning against Andrew Kittredge (5-1) before Frazier hit a 0-1 pitch well beyond the left-field wall for just the Yankees' fourth hit in their last 38 at-bats with runners in scoring position.

Luis Cessa (1-0) threw a perfect top of the 11th.

Austin Meadows hit a two-run homer in the first and Kevin Kiermaier homered in the fifth for the Rays, who lost for just the second time in 18 games.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Yankees right-hander Domingo German allowed three runs on three hits and no walks over five innings. Rays ace Tyler Glasnow gave up three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out eight over seven innings.

The Rays took a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning when Brandon Lowe beat out a leadoff single and scored on Meadows' two-out homer.

Glasnow retired the first eight batters he faced before walking Frazier to begin the Yankees' piecemeal game-tying rally in the third. D.J. LeMahieu and Rougned Odor singled to load the bases. Frazier scored on Aaron Judge's walk and LeMahieu raced home on a wild pitch.

The Yankees went ahead in the fourth on Miguel Andujar's second homer in as many days, but Kiermaier tied the score by homering to lead off the top of the fifth.

Glasnow retired seven straight before Gary Sanchez doubled leading off the seventh, but Sanchez was caught in a rundown on Andujar's grounder to short. The Rays threatened without a base hit in the top of the eighth, when Meadows walked with two outs, stole second and took third on a wild pitch before Frazier made a diving grab to rob Joey Wendle of the go-ahead hit.
