Rondae Hollis-Jefferson scored the winning layup with 0.8 seconds remaining as the Brooklyn Nets overcame a 25-point, fourth-quarter deficit to post a stunning 123-121 victory over the host Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night.

D'Angelo Russell scored 27 of his career-high 44 points in the fourth quarter as the Nets outscored the Kings 45-18 to improve to 1-3 on a seven-game road trip.

Hollis-Jefferson scored 14 points on 6-of-7 shooting and drove through the lane to convert the winning basket. Jarrett Allen scored 13 points, and Spencer Dinwiddie added 10 for Brooklyn.

Marvin Bagley III scored 28 points, and De'Aaron Fox had 27 points and nine assists for Sacramento, which failed to win back-to-back games for the first time in five-plus weeks.

Harrison Barnes scored 17 points, Nemanja Bjelica had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Bogdan Bogdanovic added 10 points for the Kings.

Brooklyn looked lost before the fourth-quarter splurge from Russell got it back into the game.

Russell buried back-to-back 3-pointers to pull the Nets within 116-114 with 2:08 remaining.

Russell added two more baskets, and Jared Dudley drained a 3-pointer with 1:11 left to give Brooklyn a 121-119 edge. Fox made two free throws with 46.8 seconds left to tie the score.

Brooklyn shot 50 percent from the floor and was 12 of 35 from behind the arc.

Sacramento shot 51.6 percent from the field, including 9 of 25 from 3-point range.

The Kings led by eight at halftime and broke the game open with the 20 consecutive points.

Fox scored nine points during the burst, including a 3-pointer that capped the explosive span and gave Sacramento an 86-58 advantage with 7:37 left in the third quarter.

The Kings were 16 of 23 from the field while scoring 37 points during the period as they took a 103-78 lead into the fourth quarter.

Brooklyn mounted a charge in the final period and opened the quarter with a 19-4 spurt. Russell scored eight points during a 10-0 portion as the Nets moved within 107-97 with 7:22 left.

Dudley buried a 3-pointer, and Russell added two free throws to bring Brooklyn within 109-104 with 4:43 remaining.

A 3-pointer by Buddy Hield gave the Kings a 116-108 lead with 3:05 left.

Bagley scored 17 points on 8-of-8 shooting and Fox contributed 13 points and seven assists as Sacramento led 66-58 at the break.
